Aftermath
There is a tension that remains in the wake of a separation; we feel the presence of that absence. Traces left by the absent person create a landscape with a sense of aftermath, which we struggle to negotiate, surging and pulling at thoughts and sensations. What is the flavour of the tension that remains in a space after someone has left it?
Approximately 30m of bandages bind the dancers as they alternate between struggle to emerge from its confines, and to keep a hold on each other, oscillating between danger and tenderness.
Aftermath was shown as part of ‘Project Brand New 6 - The Lively Fall’ in the Project Arts Centre, Dublin in December 2010 and at Solstice, Cork Midsummer Festival, June 2011
